March 2013. In May 1989, I was invited to St Louis, Missouri to participate in a concert for the homeless of that otherwise wonderful city, organised by the Anglican Institute. This video was sitting in a drawer for many years because my VHS player couldn’t read it. Only last year as I was putting things into order, I decided to convert it to DVD. In that concert I played the Schumann Humoresque, the Rachmaninov-Kreisler transcriptions Liebesleid and Liebesfreud and, as an encore, a short piece called Improvisation by Gabriel Faure. The Schumann Humoresque is better on my Schumann album from the previous year in France for the CALLIOPE label, and eventually I will get around to posting that on this site as a sound clip. I subsequently never recorded the Rachmaninov transcriptions though, so here they are in an archive not quite note-perfect but passionate first performance…

From the same concert a moving rendition of Kaddish by Ravel with violinist Jacques Israelovitch (concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony) in memory of his grandmother who had just passed away at the time.

December 2013. Children’s Song no 6 by Chick Corea  from the Between Two Worlds launch in Paris on September 10/11/12, 2011. It was 10 years since the twin towers.
